I have daughters but also am sick of male bashing. After all I have a wonderful husband and brother … and then there are all my brothers-in-law, etc. As Lena Lamont said (you just have to imagine the intonation), “I can’t staaaaand it!”
As the mother of, quite possibly, the sweetest little boy in the world (as well as, lucky me, the sweetest little girl in the world), I still haven’t recovered from a t-shirt I saw a few years ago. A twelve year old girl was wearing it. It said: “Boys have feelings too. Who cares?”
I supposed, if pressed, the Madison Ave geniuses behind these “girlz power” type shirts would argue that (a) it’s just a joke, (b) it’s meant to even out centuries of social inequality or (c) since women are in a one down power position, they can’t be guilty of anti-man animus.
Well, (a) it’s not a funny joke, it’s just mean; (b) two wrongs don’t make a right; and (c) check my link to see what I think of that last argument.
Ultimately, to elevate girls by putting down boys does a profound disservice to both. Sad that we live in such a binary society that many can’t envision both sexes sharing betterment.
[...] The Anchoress picked up my Evil White Male rant. I did not even send her a link. Betsyspage had linked to it, because I sent it to her, then the Anchoress picked it up from her. Tons of traffic. [...]

What would really be interesting is if some of the Middle East governments decided to eject all the Newsweek staff from the country.
