Gateway Pundit is all over this story.
Interesting how the fears of these people played out.
With a program called “Drive out the Trash” you get a sense of how President Mugabe feels about certain Zimbabweans. And, when the government destroys their homes, destroys their means of earning a living, and destroys their food, in a country already threatened with famine,… only time separates these people from certain death.
The genocide has begun in Zimbabwe.
Children Crushed. Displaced people, food sources being destroyed, murder. Orphanages destroyed. All of this is said to decrease crime.
This is a human rights catastrophe, and something of a moral tsunami.
Some are fighting back.

Mugabe goes wild and the Anglican Church thinks Israel is the most pressing of world problems.
I’m ashamed.

It’s a sad, sad thing. This story can’t compete with the others, even I’m caught up in the others too. But I’ve tried to spread it around a little. Thank you, Anchoress.
I don’t find it on the homepages online of the NY Times, the Washington Post, the Washington Times, Fox News, or CNN, not even as a headline under “International” or “World.”

Mugabe Begins the Genocide
More than 42,000 people had been arrested or had their goods seized as Zimbabwe pressed ahead with a crackdown on shanty-towns that has sparked worldwide condemnation. With a program called “Drive out the Trash” you get a sense of how President Mugab…

In the past year, I’ve had Africa hard on my heart. I’ve written a half dozen checks for aid there (most to Sudan), and I’ve taken on a second African girl to sponsor. But I wouldn’t give a nickel for Zimbabwe without some serious change there. I really wouldn’t put it past the tyrant there to be doing this to garner Int’l Aid that will, of course, not go where it’s needed. Don’t trust the guy or his gov’t.
BTW, I remember when they were seizing the farms of white Zimbabweans, and the black Zimbabweans seemed real happy ’bout it. I think now they’re seeing the reality of that cautionary saying that ends, “But when they came for me, there was no one left to stand up for me.” First they seized the white farmer’s lands (worsening the famine situation). Now it’s the poor black “trash”. Hmmm…the not-as-poor blacks better watch out. They’re apparently next…
