June 29, 2005Smooth linky goodness…Because my ear infection is just killing me, (don’t even ask what the Ear Nose and Throat guy did to me yesterday - all I know is 600 mg of Ibuprofen at a pop are doing nothing and my face and ear still look deformed, and he says, “yeah, you’ll be in pain for a few more days, at least”) so I am offering you some links. I know, I know, some people write to me that they hate when I serve links, but I wouldn’t be doing this if I didn’t think you’d WANT to read some of this stuff, so just read it and indulge me! Blabble is wondering if Seymour Hersch really is hoping to see a few bombs dropped on a few malls. James Warner, Vietnam POW shares his harrowing ordeal, just so Americans can get some perspective on what torture really is. Hint: it ain’t having Harry Potter read to you. Contrary to what the “nay-theyers” are saying (they say Nay to everything, so how credible can they be?) consumer confidence was up - way up - in June. GDP is up, too. Pinning their hopes on how well they - with the help of the press - can spin the Downing Street Memos, the Democrats look to be launching a grassroots call for Impeachment in January of ‘06. Not for nuthin’ but do you ever remember a WaPo headline that began, Mr Clinton…? Me neither. BizzyBlog is rightly amused to see babyboomers deride the next generation as the entitlement generation. Oh, those boomers, always so hot to label everything and everyone! Ever marvel at how the Holy Spirit works? So does Kobayashi Maru here and here. His brother is gravely ill, and sometimes that is the impetus we need to be just that little bit more aware. John at Right Wing News has an interview with the mighty Mark Steyn. You will, of course, want to read it all. Gerard’s thumbs are prickling so that means something wicked this way comes. Meanwhile, a bride makes a much more constructive decision than merely running away. Doesn’t get the same airtime and headlines, though. Nancy Pelosi wants to tell the enemy when we will leave Iraq so they can be well-rested and refreshed to commence havoc when we do. She seems not to be the least bit curious about the troops in Kosovo that Clinton had promised to have home by Christmas. I was almost afraid to click when I saw the trackback to “smooth linky goodness.” I was afraid someone hijacked your site.
Sy Hersh was trying to make it look like we were losing the war in Afghanistan in Oct-Nov 2001. He wants us to lose, and he’s mad that we’re not. Period.

The Real Entitlement Generation
What an absolute hoot that some Baby Boomer bosses are calling the current crop of young kids the Entitlement Generation (bolds are mine):
The Entitlement Generation: Are Young Workers Spoiled or Simply Demanding a New Kind of Work Life?

If the pain is so bad that Ibuprofen isn’t helping, get someone to prescribe you Vicodin, or its generic equivalent. You’ll be too zoned out to blog, but at least you’ll be (a) out of pain and (b) sleeping better. And don’t be afraid to cry or make a serious fuss. When normally quiet and cooperative patients start screaming, believe me, the doctor will listen. Good luck.
