Rather she covers herself in something else. Michelle Malkin has the just-released (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) letter-of-apology from Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll to the family of Marine Sgt. Joseph Goodrich, whose funeral the Lt. Gov crashed before declaring “this (State of PA’s) government is against this war…”
Michelle writes: …Knoll has no plans to make herself available for public comment about her obnoxious crashing of Sgt. Goodrich’s funeral. She will not hold a press conference. She will not take phone calls from the media. She will not address constituents who have complained or veterans who have protested.
If Knoll thinks the letter is going to put things to rest, she clearly misunderstands the situation.
Quite true.
Here’s the story in case you missed it. Blackfive is also following this.

Apology Letter From Funeral Crasher
Michelle Malkin has been all over this story, and I just saw she has been in contact with the Governor’s office:
I just got off the phone with Sal Sirabella, Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll’s chief of staff. They are in the midst of drafting a lett…

Knoll should start drafting her letter of resignation while she is at it. If she thinks this will go away, she is mistaken. If she thinks the MSM will rally around her, like they did for Dick Durbin, she is mistaken again. Speech may be free. But the consequences sometimes carry a fair price. Other families should come forward if she did the same with them. I suspect she did. Has she appeared with families that have expressed anger at the Bush administration for the handling of the war and the death of their loved ones? Must be how she found them.
