My brother Thom - not a political animal - read this, saw all those unused buses and then read this and he sent me the stunning picture, above, with a very sad note.
“This neglect is sinful.” He wrote, “Christ is suffering greatly in all of this.”
Yes. Christ always suffers when humanity suffers. But He is also with the rescuers and relief workers…and that should give us hope, even in the face of all of this…terrible loss and grief.
On this Sunday, very light blogging. Prayers - lots of prayers - feel like the order of the day, to me.
The Katrina Relief Drive is at $ 727,515.00 right now. If you have not made a contribution, please do. If you think you can give a little more…please do.
Then check out Michelle, who is urging help for Katrina’s lost children.

It is astonishing that there are those who would rather hate than help.
Viscral hatred over healing. Astonishing.

Today’s Mass homily was this very topic. Thank you. Blogged about you but cannot for the life of me to get trackbacks to work on your site. Oh well. No biggie. Thanks for being here.
