Wizbang’s excellent fact-checking!

I love this. You’ll just have to check it out and you will love it, too. This is also eye-opening.

Oh and btw - occasionally some email me wondering why I blog anonymously. Here is your answer.

I am all for healthy debate and spirited opposition. I truly believe those things serve the republic well. That said, healthy debate and spirited opposition precludes deceit.

Michael Moore’s politicking notwithstanding, deceit is not a legitimate form of political expression.

The number of liberals who would picket somebody’s home is fairly small…but the fraction which would defend such harassment is very large.

Scary. Has a non-conservative denounced this practice?

  5. Donna Says:

I know that Charles Johnson over at LGF has received death threats. And idiots have sent nasty emails to the bosses of the guys over at Powerline, demanding that the Powerline bloggers be fired or silenced.

*Sigh* “Free speech for me, but not for thee.”

[...] Well, The Anchoress and Sister Toldjah both said that was a strong reason to blog anonymously. I don’t blame them one bit. In fact, I emphasize my masked identity in the blog because it is too important, and because in real life, my real name is too unique. [...]

It goes beyond bloggers. Scientists who have disputed anthropogenic(caused by humans)global warming have been harassed incessantly by the Left, including at their homes. Things like having jars of blood thrown at them by screaming ninnies saying “Mother Earth is crying…” No wonder so few of the 60,000 who have signed the petition disputing the notion that anthropogenic global warming has been proven are willing to speak out against the “Chicken Littles” that pop up in the Press all the time. Those scientists at Harvard that published that paper about a year ago(female, by the way)saying that just about all the global warming observed can be attributed to solar variation, were told they committed career suicide and have been treated thusly(cancelled research, papers that had been accepted at conferences being rejected, etc). Their work is even more interesting with last week’s news of observed Martian warming. Same effect at work? And then, in the final insult to intelligence, the Left comes out and warns people about falling for junk science.(The Left has this interesting strategy of pre-emptive strikes–accusing the other side of doing what it is really doing.) Let me state for the record that the Left just about has a monopoly on junk science. And with their strangehold on Acedemia, it is likely to become absolute/perfect. Ever look at your 4th-graders science book? Man-made global warming is proven, carbon dioxide a poison.

Science has to be free of all agendas, political and other, in order to serve mankind. In a perfect world, Lancet would be closing up shop about now after publishing those back-of-the-envelope estimates of 100,000 civilian deaths in Iraq…(interview a small sample and ask if you no longer see people you used to see(nobody moved?), extrapolate that to the entire population and viola!) That wouldn’t have gotten past my 4th grade science teacher….

Anonymous blogging also has the perhaps unintended benefit of allowing all of us to think we might actually know you in some walk of life.

In fact, wasn’t that you driving in front on me on I35 trying to work your beads and a manual transmission at the same time?
