October 4, 2005In other news…While we weren’t paying attenion, Iraq moved ensure passage of its constitution. Bill Roggio has news from the war. Remember the war? Note the media criticism in the piece. Michelle Malkin - who seems to have the ability to follow multiple stories, report on them in depth, follow-up with dogged determination AND still raise a family - (she is amazing!) - is staying on top of the Chuck Schumer Scandal known as Chuckaquiddick, except of course by the NY Times which still is not covering this story. She relays that Newsday actually IS reporting, though, and furthering the story: The DSCC is picking up the tab for (Chuck’s Plumbers Lawyer) Lawler, who charges as much as $400 an hour. I dunno…is it even WORTH writing to the NY Times and asking them to try…to TRY to be a real news outlet and cover this story? I think probably it’s not. Via Michelle, we also see this really exciting news, ala Blackfive: Simon & Schuster to Publish Anthology of Military Blogger Experiences VERY cool. That will be a book worth buying! John Bolton gets hissed at Yale but I like these two excerpts: “We don’t need anybody else to judge us,” he said. “We judge our own.” The answer prompted loud hissing from the audience, but Bolton offered students a question of his own. “I’m just curious, those of you who are hissing, who do you think will judge better than us?” he asked the audience. and: “He was extremely rude, extremely belligerent, everything the Democrats called him in confirmation hearings,” Jed Glickstein ‘08 said. “He was all those things, but in the end he won the debate.” Vegas odds-makers are saying Yankees vs. Cardinals for the world series. I have my doubts about that. Captain Ed points us to a Richard Cohen piece that is rather surprising. Call it a Come-to-Jesus meeting for the Dems…he is wondering if they are still the party of free speech? Good for Cohen! The Cotillion Gals have made some changes - rather than several hostesses there is only one, Ms Grey Tie and the carnival is somewhat scaled down this week - all for the better, I think, since each and every piece included is a winner. I especially like this rant from Girl on the Right: I will never understand. Guys who openly declare their intentions to kill us all because we aren’t Muslim, who stone women and crush homosexuals, who saw off heads and send car bombs into groups of children, who attack your country and blame the Jews for everything, these guys are A-Okay with liberals. But George Bush, a man who appointed the first black Secretary of State and the first female black Secretary of State, who appointed the first Latino Attorney General and has done more for the worldwide enfranchisement of Muslims than anyone, this guy they believe is an evil racist. Canadian politicians who happen to be Catholic are trying to have their Flesh and eat it, too, and they’re not happy with Benedict XVI. I can’t imagine that John Kerry, flying back to Iowa likes him much, either. Little Miss Atilla wants some book recommendations to help her through her so-called half-assed Christianity so you may want to scuttle over there and make your recommendations. Oh, and the Catholic Carnival is up. http://theanchoressonline.com/2005/10/04/in-other-news/trackback/ One Response to “In other news…” |

Another great roundup of links.
The Richard Cohen piece, in particular is extremely valuable- and relevant.
