Clearly the blogs do not have the power or reach of the mainstream media, who can repeat a story a few times and see it fully - sadly -inserted into the public debate as “reality,” but since we can pretty much guarantee that this weekend’s news will be all about this silliness instead of Iraq’s embrasure of its constitution, we bloggers may was well do what we can.
Thus, Sgt. Ron Long, who participated in yesterday’s Bush/Mil get-together as blogged a response to the media’s offense.
It makes my stomach ache to think that we are helping to preserve free speech in the US, while the media uses that freedom to try to RIP DOWN the President and our morale, as US Soldiers. They seem to be enjoying the fact that they are tearing the country apart. Worthless!
The question I was most asked while I was home on leave in June was, “So…What’s REALLY going on over there?” Does that not tell you something?! Who has confidence in the media to tell the WHOLE STORY? It’s like they WANT this to turn into another Vietnam. I hate to break it to them, but it’s not.
The military has been very ill-served by the US Media. I don’t blame this man for his anger.
H/T Michelle.

As with every other MSM/Left Alliance, this too, shall pass. In the meantime, they- the MSM- lose credibility daily.
Think about about it- the ‘pajamahadeen’ brought down Dan Rather- and rather (pun intended) than learn from the experience, as a whole, the MSM, retains it’s ‘right’ to mislead, for ‘the good’ of all.
Apparently, the MSM is choosing to ignore their ever shrinking reading/viewing numbers and influence- and they continue to ignore the reasons for shift.
CBS, for example, et al, spend millions on foreign bureaus- and in the end, are trumped by Iraqi bloggers, for example.
Do the great minds at ‘The Rock’ or the NYT really believe that viewers/readers do not understand that local reporting is no more than an extension of home office policy?
FOr example, the first go round of the Iraqi elections were predicted to be a bust- save the Iraqi bloggers who knew there was going to be a big turnout. Rather than deal with the voter turnout reality, the MSM pushed it off the front pages ASAP, and resumed regularly scheduled agenda based broadcasts.
All that money, all that ‘talent’ and Iraqi bloggers trumped them and their agenda.
At least this time, the MSM have the good sense not to predict a low turnout. Now, they are ready to tell us why a good turnout is really meaningless.
Anything but deal with the truth.

This story is an example of the MSM setting the agenda of the Democrat Party. The transcript service now sets the meme…When you find your servant is your master…
How’s that European Constitution going, by the way? That started with the Treaty of Rome in 1957, didn’t it?

NPR had a good piece on “staging”.
This is just a part of the business - since the Presidency began. No big deal.
