The stupidest woman in the senate, Patty Murray, is threatening Senators who vote for the Coburn Amendment.

…Patty Murray is now speaking against the Coburn Amendment, and has just issued a threat against any Senators who vote for the amendment: we on the Appropriations Committee will take a “long, hard look” at any projects in your state. Can anyone say, “culture of corruption”?

Senator, I think we voters are going to be taking a long, hard look at you and alllll of your co-horts who are so disinclined to cut needless and wasteful spending, and who are so incredibly BOLD about that disinclination. Senator, I think the mood of the people is not to complacently accept your piggish and greedy use of taxpayer funds on pork and more pork, and maybe we’ll be inclined to throw out the whole boiling of you, come elections in 2006 and 2008.

I’m frankly ready for a revolution, here. I’m frankly ready to kick out entrenched “public servants” who serve nothing but their own ambition and their hysterical holds on their seats - I’m ready to tell them the really ought not give themselves another raise. I’m ready to tell them they really ought not continue to try to build bridges to nowhere or greedily ask for 260 billion dollars that can never be sufficiently audited and managed.

For once something on which right and left can agree, and our “representatives…” (that is what they’re supposed to be, right? Representatives, representing the people?) are proving themselves to be profoundly tone deaf.
