Lots going on, and I need to backup because some of it I’ve been holding since yesterday, like
Michelle Malkin’s New book is out, and the flaming has begun over at Amazon. I’m not sure about folks who have so much time in the day they can invest it in writing “I really tried to read this but…” pretend reviews. Brian Maloney highlights some of them, so I don’t have to, meanwhile the Let’s Have A Coup Party thing is on for today - more or less proving Michelle’s thesis.
Also, the Cotillion is up at Portia’s redesigned site. Go check out her pretty new site and see what conservative women are hiking up their fatigues and gathering their guns about!
I can’t read all of this - can someone tell me what is the story about this Henry G. Cisneros fellow? What’s it all about?
An Iraqi City becomes a Turnaround Story.
Joe Wilson declares he is No Commie Liberal Sympathizer. Whatever. Are his minutes up, yet?
Oh, sorry to keep talking about Wilson, but did you get a chance to listen to his speech from 2003? Blogs are like children. I think they’re more like addictive happy fun time zappers, myself.
Jimmy Carter says the WH manipulated WMD intelligence before the war. Really?
I can’t tell you how much I wish my first vote had not been cast for this monster of ego.
Okay, so why are Hurricane Katrina Funds going to Alaska?
Cathy Seipp naively wonders why feminists do not stand up for Fallaci.
Victor Davis Hanson in City Journal. Good read.

Oh, well, we again have October Jimmuh. The Democrat Media trots him out every election season, or in between if there’s any possibility of using him to drive down Bush’s poll numbers or influence the American people against Republicans/Bush/conservativism. They sit and nod and drool at his every word; fortunately, many Americans remember his years in the WH and just laugh….or change the channel.

Cisneros was a hugely popular mayor of San Antonio. He went to Washington during the Clinton admin as head of HUD. He got into some sort of trouble there, don’t recall the details. Sorry, not much help. Is this a corollary to the Libby thing?

I can add to this whispered chain of imprecision by remembering that the issue had to do with Henry Cisneros’ paying a six-figure sum to his mistress, then lying to the FBI about it. The mistress was getting mighty restless. (The Lewinsky scandal generated a truism that should be chiselled into any politician’s skull: “Men will cheat, and women will talk.”)
He was the Golden Boy of San Antonio politics, former mayor I believe, charming, wired, and handsome, until The Problem (perhaps as much the outed affair, as the legal problems.)
So who can refine the next chapter?
