December 7, 2005Racist Bush? One of the LA Time’s new columnists is staking out her territory as “extreme and confused” very early. Erin Aubry Kaplan writes: Got that? That little bit just got slipped in there. Gangasta rap is losing its popularity, and it’s probably the fault of the racially oppressive George W. Bush, who hates black people. Unreal. Right after reading that, I read this: (H/T Polipundit. Harvard University for the first time yesterday named an African-American woman, legal scholar Patricia A. King, to serve on its governing corporation. So, a bastion of liberal “diversity” finally names a black woman to its governing board. Commendable, I guess, if we’re still living in an age where people are cheifly noticed by their race or gender rather than by their accomplishments or the content of their character - an age in which the boomers clearly still reside. For the rest of us, though, it’s disheartening to see that the president who has - more than any president before him - surrounded himself with exceptional people of every race, gender and creed, is being regarded as “racially oppressive” by those who choose to live in a state of willful misunderstanding, while Harvard’s rather late-to-the-party (decades after Barbara Jordan, they STILL hadn’t named a black woman to the post?) hiring is touted as something…remarkable. Who are the racists, again? I keep getting confused. http://theanchoressonline.com/2005/12/07/racist-bush/trackback/ 4 Responses to “Racist Bush?” |

How can you get confused about who the racists are with all these people constantly reminding us? It’s as if they are afraid we won’t be able to notice otherwise…

In fact, the critique of the Administration so hollow.
When you have to make declarative statements, depending on deceit to make your case, rather than exercise direct comparisons, you have lost the debate.
