December 14, 2005Sedation, Web Awards and random stuffWeb Award voting ends tomorrow (Thursday), and I expect my little blog will be very quiet, as tomorrow is also lumpectomy day, and I’m going to be sedated (I’m not happy about this sedation, thing…) and who knows what - if anything - I will be writing. If I do write it will probably be pretty grumpy or loopy. Grumpier, loopier, I mean. So, if you have been voting for my for Best Conservative Blog I thank you - I have made a better showing than I ever could have hoped for. And if you have not voted for me, I’d appreciate one. Alexandra at All Things Beautiful has had a rather trying time of it - while she has some very excellent competitors, not all the folks in her category were as friendly as the folks in mine. If you could spare a vote in her direction I’m sure she’d appreciate it, too. Random stuff: Polipundit calls it the quote of the year. I am sure the press and Democrats won’t concur, but I do: “Anybody who doesn’t appreciate what America has done and President Bush, let them go to hell” The video is priceless at Political Teen. I just love the way she says, “…and PRESIDENT Bush!” Hootsbuddy relays exactly why Dan Rather is no longer reading the CBS Evening News as explained by the MSM. Ed Morrissey b*tchslaps the NY Times on their fake Iraqi voting ballots story: It turns out that Filkins’ source either works for the Defense ministry’s intelligence unit or passed along a rumor that got sourced from there. Stories based on anonymous, single sources can do tremendous damage, especially to a reporter’s reputation and that of his newspaper. Perhaps the Gray Lady should think about that before jumping in with both feet to repeat stupid and easily-debunked urban legends such as these. I think they like stupid urban legends. Living Catholicism is hosting the Catholic Carnival. Lots of good Advent writing, if you’re looking for it. I sure am. Sad news in Advent as churches are burning in Australia. Rescuing antique religious art very interesting site, linked to by Julie. Which reminds me of a book I saw once and thought was pretty neat if you are into looking at old holy cards…which I am!
I think I’ll throw it into my bookshelf in the sidebar…which, btw, if you order anything via Amazon through there, my brother’s hospice benefits from your purchase. Mystery Acheivement has an eye on the UN MAP of Palestine. So what is The Barrett Report?. And just when DID the Dems start calling Bush a liar? http://theanchoressonline.com/2005/12/14/sedation-web-awards-and-random-stuff/trackback/ 5 Responses to “Sedation, Web Awards and random stuff” |

“All Things Beautiful” and “Reign of Ellen” were both added to my voting when you endorsed them. ‘Course, I checked ‘em first!
You’ve gotten my vote since day one.
Tomorrow, relax, talk to GOD, and be healthy! All will be well!
