March 28, 2006Abdul Rahman Vanishes - Deathfans and Fascists afootThis day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. - Deut 30:19 This doesn’t feel too good to my gut. An Afghan man who had faced the death penalty for converting from Islam to Christianity quickly vanished Tuesday after he was released from prison, apparently out of fear for his life with Muslim clerics still demanding his death. As Michelle Malkin notes, this is hardly reassuring since his family - during a custody dispute - turned him in, in the first place. Meanwhile the Death-people are at it again, chanting “Death, Death, Death!” On Monday, hundreds of clerics, students and others chanting “Death to Christians!” marched through the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif… Yeah, yeah, Death to Christians, Death to Jews, Death to cartoonists, Death to gays, Death to unveiled or “dishonorable” women, Death to the West. Death to all who don’t agree with us! Death, Death, Death - that’s all these people know. Maybe it’s because they know so little about loving life? Seems to me if you reverence life as sacred, you can’t be constantly hollaring for Death to all of these Created Creatures who were loved into being by God. Seems to me that if you love God, then you love his Creatures and you do not presume to kill them because of the words of a mere human man - be he a prophet or no. “Religious” people who can look at half the world and say, “God loves us, but not YOU, and therefore you must die” are very screwed up “religious” people who suggest that God does not love what He makes. Nonsensical and probably pretty insulting to God. As Siggy pointed out, these Islamofascist extremists are making things very difficult for sane Muslims. I’m trying to decide if people who are this enamored of death are simply supremely insecure in everything, from the rightness of their faith to their manhood. Fascism always contains a “conform or face the consequences” note, whether it’s in the schools, where you must wear the “right” things or be ostracized, or it’s in a city where you celebrate its values or be stigmatised as a hater. It stinks of insecurity. Values, morals and beliefs built upon solid foundations are not so quickly or thoroughly threatened by opposing viewpoints that they require literal or metaphorical calls for death, threats to one’s livelihood or safety, or the right to free expression and free assembly. So, everyone just take note: If the cause you are embracing, or the “community” with which you’ve aligned yourself demonstrates its “strength” by using these tactics…you might be hanging around with fascists. It might be time to reassess your association. One last thought: Throughtout history, we’ve seen Christians and Jews behave badly from time to time. More Christians than Jews, probably. But measure for measure, when the chips have been down, Christians and Jews have died for each other . Buddhists, too. Hindus, too. It is not particularly unusual to hear of people from one religion defend those of other faiths - even A Buddhist will defend the Pope. But these Islamofascist extremists (please note, I do not say ALL Muslims) won’t die for anyone else. This is the problem. They don’t seem to realize they’re part of the “community of man” (yes, I said “man,” not “humanity.” Don’t get the vapors.) We know there are Muslims in the Middle East who wish to be free of the jackboots of Extremism and Fascism. Our president has been trying to do what no one else in the world is willing to do: break the stranglehold and allow the great majority of Muslims to live in liberty - respected by the rest, free to make their own way in the world, in peace. A year ago, we were making great headway, and so it’s not surprising that the Islamofascists are doing what they can to strike back. What is surprising - what is a damn shame - what may end up being an unforgiveable sin, is that so many people in the press and on the left are so willing to submit to Dhimmitude out of fear and (even worse - morally MUCH worse) out of sheer hatred of George W. Bush, who cannot be permitted to succeed in his visionary and noble endeavor. The Cosmic Gauntlet, having been flung, is reverberating - it is creating a deep tremblor, and if we can’t all get on the same page as to how to deal with Islamofascism, everything is going to be so much rubble. Think about it again: This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. - Deut 30:19 UPDATED: Jim Geraghty wonders if the Rahman case is a tipping point of sorts for those who previously had not really clued into the dangers of “Islamofascist groupthink.” He notes that this story seems to have awoken Richard Cohen from his PC slumber, and he’s written a strong - nay, powerful - column. You’ll want to read them both. Viking Pundit is also perhaps at a tipping point. Meanwhile The Ordinary Everyday Christian has a nice roundup. UPDATE II After reading the excerpt from Story of a Soul, here, I wonder if our Muslim extremists should not read Therese of Lisieux to get back to appreciating the rest of humanity. Dr. Sanity wonders if they have any humanity left. http://theanchoressonline.com/2006/03/28/abdul-rahman-vanishes-deathfans-and-fascists-afoot/trackback/ 15 Responses to “Abdul Rahman Vanishes - Deathfans and Fascists afoot” |

simply supremely insecure in everything, from the rightness of their faith to their manhood.
.
When one reads the Koran and Hadith and other histories of the Prophet and Islam, one is immediately reminded of the gang-bangers of today, raping and stealing and lying and killing — nothing more than a bunch of thugs and punks. Only a whiny, insecure punk engages in such bullying, erroneously thinking that he is displaying manliness.

Until I hear otherwise, I am going to believe he’s disappeared because he is being moved to a free country. And that must be done quietly. For his safety as well as the safety of those moving him. Keep praying for him.
Jews and Christians worship the same GOD. We diverge at one point in history, but we remain related by that same GOD.
No matter what they say, however, the God of Islam is not the same GOD. Allah is the God of the Moon. Whether this a single Arabian Moon God, or a specific tribal Moon God, the Muslims are worshipping a Moon God, not Jehovah, Yahweh, or whichever name we apply to the One GOD.
Muslims can disagree, but the history is quite clear. Just as Jerusalem is not a Koranic city - nor is it mentioned in the Koran, if I recall correctly - the “holy” words of the Koran are incoherent, and incompatible with the GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
OT scriptures move humanity along, slowly, toward a goal. NT scriptures reveal that goal, and the way it is achieved. To then, 500 years later, veer away from that goal to a vision of blood-letting, rape, and subjugation, is insanity. There is no relation between the Bible and the Koran. Sorry, but there ain’t.
Until the Western apologists for Islamic atrocities get that through their heads, we remain endangered by the Lunacy of Islamism.
