After reading this dithering, hand-wringer of a piece on what makes a terrorist a “terrorist” (but they love their kids! They pick up groceries, like you and me!), Lorie Byrd lets loose her barbaric yawp. She’s fed up with these mealy-mouths!
Okay, insert here whatever word you use to represent the Howard Dean scream. Arrrrrgggh! Is it really that difficult? If Jeffrey Dahmer took care of his family or donated money to worthy charities or rescued stray puppies would that have made him any less of a cannibalistic murderer? Of course not. Then why is it so hard for some to call terrorists what they are? I think it is necessary that news organizations report the other side of terrorist organizations so that the public can understand how so many in the Muslim world would support them. But that does not mean that they are not still terrorist organizations.
Read it all. Then go check out Betsy Newmark as she reveals that CNN really does have problems controlling their own reports.

Terrific post by LB!
One would imagine CNN would do their homework. First, Hizbollah- in their own words:
http://sigcarlfred.blogspot.com/2006/07/hizbollah-once-and-for-all-black-and.html
Then there are other realities. There can be no misunderstanding as to what Hizbollah really is.
‘National political parties and social service agencies do not have offensive weapons. National defence falls under the purview of a national government.
National political parties and social service agencies are not outfitted with weapons provided by third countries, that are used to attack other countries- or those that don’t share their politics, at home.
National political parties and social service agencies are not organizations that should be controlled by outside regimes.
National political parties and social service agencies that insist they are humanitarian in nature and are victims of cruel aggressor that want to disarm them, cannot be trusted or taken at their word. By design, Hezbollah bases itself in residential areas, places arms depots in urban areas, and has missile launch sites that are backyards. The transformation of blocks in South Beirut into Hezbollah headquarters facilities are all examples of why Hizbollah will never be considered a real political party and social service agencies.
National political parties and social service agencies that want to be considered moral equals to with those in the western world cannot preach and teach hate. Hizbollah makes no effort to hide it’s bigoted and racist agenda. In fact, Hizbollah is no different than the Ku Klux Klan and other racist organizations (many of which Hizbollah has relationships).
Imagine a the Ku Klux Klan insisting it were the equivalent of other political party and organizations. Imagine the KKK, armed witgh rockets and missiles. Imagine a network of Ku Klux Klan schools. What do you suppose that curriculum would be like? Now, imagine that the children that attended those schools went home every day and were then exposed to Klan TV. Imagine those ideologies reinforced by the clergy, each week.
I’m not clear on what it is Anderson Cooper does not understand.
