September 10, 2006Nevada Muslim stares down al-MuhajerThis is, perhaps, exactly what some Americans will appreciate reading on the 5th anniversary of 9/11: Well, Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, I am an American too. Count me as the one of those you have asked your supporters to kill. I am not alone, there are thousands of Muslims with me in Las Vegas, and many more millions in America, who are proud Americans and who are ready to face your challenge. You hide in your caves and behind the faces of civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq. You don’t show your faces and you have no guts to face Muslims. You thrive on the misery of thousands of Muslim youth and children who are victims of despotism, poverty and ignorance. During the past two decades, you have brought nothing but shame and disaster to your religion and your world. There is nothing common between you and us. We stand for life, you want to destroy it. We accept the divine scheme of diversity in the world and you want to impose conformity. We respect every human being simply because he or she is a creation of the divine, and you hate people based on their religion and ethnicity. We support freedom and liberty and justice, and you promote bigotry, murder and strangulation. You will never be able to find a sympathetic voice amidst us. Our differences with others will never lead us to do things that are fundamentally wrong in our faith, i. e. taking the lives of innocent people and killing others because they are different. So on Sept. 11, when you will be hiding in your caves, we will be out in the streets paying tribute to those who you killed because you failed to see the beauty of life. We will condemn you once again the same way we have been doing ever since 9/11 because we are Muslim Americans. Aslam Abdullah is director of the Islamic Soceity of Nevada. You’ll want to read the whole thing. http://theanchoressonline.com/2006/09/10/nevada-muslim-stares-down-al-muhajer/trackback/ 6 Responses to “Nevada Muslim stares down al-Muhajer” |

Hey, you scooped me. I live in Las Vegas. Thanks for bringing this to light. I like his tone.

Proof positive that those who fight against the forces of darkness know no single creed, that warriors of light come from all cultures. I find it awesome (in the literal sense) to find others who recognize the ultimate goal of the Divine is found through love, tolerance and creation (while the forces of darkness only know how to pervert, deny and destroy).
Salaam Allah Alaikum, Aslam Abdullah.

Aslam Abdullah is the director of the Islamic Society of Nevada, which is the state level organization of the Islamic Society of North America.
Here is an LGF page of links to the highjinks of the Islamic Society of North America (including, but not limited to, putting on a seminar on how to beat one’s wife):

In addition, Aslam Abdullah’s state-level organization has a website with a “Links” page which prominently links CAIR and the Muslim American Society, which is the American version of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Aslam seems like he may be a good guy himself, but he affiliates himself with bad people.
But, even though he is good about not calling for violence he has written articles which are easily available through Google, wherein he argues that the War on Terrorism is a “stealth crusade” by the Bush Administration; a “war on Islam”.
Yes, that’s right, he says the Bush Administration is waging a war on Islam.
Couple that with the Faqs page at the Islamic Society of Nevada website which says that Jihad is permissible as defense of Islam, and I would say Aslam is probably making a case for violence against America, but who knows really?
Aslam has also written an article which calls the Danish Mohammed cartoons “emotional terrorism” and an affront to free speech.
I have a funny feeling about this guy.
I think it is very unwise to simply put forth an article like his as a positive, until you have really researched him. We have run across an awful lot of Muslim leaders who speak out of two sides of their face.

Ah, well. Chalk it down to my enthusiastic (and possibly naive) belief in the essential goodness of individuals. It’s just that I WANT to believe that there are other people who can see beyond petty politics to essential miracle of life and creation. -cp

CP, I find I want to take a man at his word, when I can, and I do believe folks can change. But I’ll keep an eye on him, for what he says next!

Wow - How Did I Miss This: ‘We’re Muslim-Americans - kill us, too’
Somehow I missed this one on the 20th of this month, but this is yet another one of those must reads. After all, we’re always asking for moderate Muslims to stand up and be heard, and when one does, especially in a big way, he damned well deserves our…
