March 4, 200717,000 scientists dissent; no consensus on global warmingVia BizzyBlog, who writes: In light of the growing intimidation of skeptics by financially conflicted globaloney globalarmists…it seems quite timely — indeed, important — to post this quaint little reminder: The global warming hypothesis has failed every relevant experimental test. It lives on only in the dreams of anti-technologists and population reduction advocates. The United States is very close to adopting an international agreement that would ration the use of energy and of technologies that depend upon coal, oil, and natural gas and some other organic compounds. This (Kyoto) treaty is, in our opinion, based upon flawed ideas. Research data on climate change do not show that human use of hydrocarbons is harmful. To the contrary, there is good evidence that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide is environmentally helpful. If your mind isn’t closed and you’ve got the time, there’s a great 52-minute lecture here that busts the globaloney wide open. The lecturer isn’t Mr. Excitement, but that’s not the point. He has more here on why the debate is not over, even though those who want it to be will brook no dissent. Mark Steyn has a good piece today on the subject. Me? I’m still waiting to read that one member - any member - of the “mediating intelligences” in the big-time-professional press has called Al Gore on his unbelievable (and unconstitutional) orders to the press that they stop reporting on dissenting scientists and simply follow his script in toto. Damn, you know if a Republican had made such a suggestion to the press, they’d be hammering him senseless and they’d be right to do it. But then again, the mediating intelligences are increasingly selective about which stories get oxygen and which are strangled at birth. Kim at Wizbang links to info on a UK documentary that calls global warming a great swindle. Even the co-founder of Greenpeace, Patrick Moore, is shown, claiming African countries should be encouraged to burn more CO2. Nobody in the documentary defends the greenhouse effect theory, as it claims that climate change is natural, has been occurring for years, and ice falling from glaciers is just the spring break-up and as normal as leaves falling in autumn. A source at Channel 4 said: “It is essentially a polemic and we are expecting it to cause trouble, but this is the controversial programming that Channel 4 is renowned for.” Controversial director Martin Durkin said: “You can see the problems with the science of global warming, but people just don’t believe you – it’s taken ten years to get this commissioned. “I think it will go down in history as the first chapter in a new era of the relationship between scientists and society. Legitimate scientists – people with qualifications – are the bad guys. But…but…I thought evil Bush and his neocons were the ones who were “against science.” http://theanchoressonline.com/2007/03/04/17000-scientists-dissent-no-consensus-on-global-warming/trackback/ 19 Responses to “17,000 scientists dissent; no consensus on global warming” |

Anchoress, I don’t know if you are familiar with Dr. Hawkins work…but he has said for sometime now that Global Warming is not a fact.
Power vs. Force would be his first book I would read if you are not familar with him.

Gore are his lackeys, who demand that we march in lock-step, are the same people who scream about Bush crushing dissent. They are the ones who explicitly and publicly demand silence and go unquestioned and yet Bush is vilified when he’s never done the same.

All this time, I think this whole matter was started by Al Gore for the sole purpose of being used as a political propaganda football. If you can’t get the sane people (most Americans) or the granola-crunching, Birkenstock-wearing, protest-marching, aging-hippie activists behind you, cozy up to the tree-huggers and whale-kissers. Now, having said that, there’s nothing wrong and everything right with treating the planet and its creatures respectfully. Both are God’s creation just like we are. However, I think most of the global warming is coming out of Al Gore’s orifices. Peace out!

Global Warming Today: The 17,000

You can see the video in its entirety at Google; it’s called “The Great Global Warming Swindle.” You can search for it by that name if copying and pasting the below address doesn’t work. It’s quite an eye-opener as to the WHY behind the propaganda.
