Linking around the blogs

Yes, I know, I’ve been awful and haven’t done much linking or writing. Sorry about that, but real life is intruding heavily and in some not-good-but I’m-not-ready-to-talk-about-it ways. Yer Anchoress has a lot on her personal plate is alls I’m saying, and thanks to that she is dealing with a bit of low-level acedia, too, so bear with her.

Meanwhile, Jeanette from Hang Right Politics has decided to branch out on her own with a blog that is a little bit religion, a little bit politics…actually, it’s not so far removed from what we do here, but she’s not going to shake sacramentals at ya and I doubt she’ll make you look at Derek Jeter or Bryn Terfel as much as I do. Go, check her out at J’s Cafe (which was nicely put together by the talented and ever-gracious Kim at Musing Minds, btw). Jeanette is posting up a storm and she’s putting up some great stuff. I like this version of Amazing Grace sung in the Cherokee language, especially.

There are Magical Exploding Houses to look at, but resporter Pamela Hess is certainly an interesting reporter with refreshing views. And Michael Totten is filing his latest from Iraq. His report will surprise you, particularly if all you read is Mainstream News. Check out the pictures. Ah, but as Jules Crittenden points out, those insurgents are resilient! Read Jule’s well-done fisking. Gaius rightly describes it as “merciless.”

Pajamas Media is full of interesting stuff today. Check out 300- Four years in and the Gospel of John and Yoko, both really excellent reads that you’ll find provoking or satisfying, depending on your own views.

And don’t forget to vote here at the Anchoress in PJM’s straw poll. Part of me thinks it’s way too early to be talking ‘08, but since it’s happening anyway…vote here…we’re looking unsurprisingly anemic! ;-)

Also don’t miss Michael Barone on blaming America first. Excellent.

If you’ve missed it elsewhere, check out Mark Steyn’s enlightening look at what moves the world.

Bill Kristol says there is progress in Baghdad and idiocy in DC.

I can’t believe I’m still writing about Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson, but as long as the lies keep getting reported as fact, it’s good to have something like this to refer to. Once again, Plame was “outted” by Armitage. And her husband. Not the White House. Sigh. As Don Surber says, deal with it.

Lorie at Wizbang links us to an unrepentant Christopher Hitchens who is refusing to do his penance and walk back his support of the Iraq invasion.

Clarice Feldman (via Siggy) wonders where exactly Hillary studied law.

A Tennessee paper takes a look at the mines on Al Gore’s Carthage property. Some wonder if global warming lessons in school will become the next “intelligent design” type debate between parents and teachers. Probably. Like Darwinism, man-made global warming is an unproved theory. Unlike Darwinism, it is an unproved theory set to radically affect the economies of nations and the lives of everyday people while lining the pockets of others.

Gore’s blather, btw has been labeled a foofaraw of pseudo-science, exaggerations, and errors, now being peddled to innocent schoolchildren worldwide.” He’s being challenged to debate his assertions on television, which is a good idea, but as we know, he has refused debate in the past, and - as we also know -Gore does not want the press to report anything that deviates from his script. Since it’s a religion he’s peddling, this savior wants you to take it all on faith, baby.

And besides school is supposed to be about education, not indoctrination. More here.

Remember this? Protein Wisdom finds the 21st century version.
