Prescribed bedrest is a bore - Pope and pip links

Hey there, sorry so quiet but I am doing the prescribed bedrest thing because, once more, my blood count is in the cellar and my iron serum levels are even lower than that. An infusion of iron, a little bedrest, I’ll be right as rain. Then more tests. Heh. There’s worse things. I am a bit too tired to sit down and do real writing just now, so …

Speaking of cellars and things medical, John Hawkins has done a temperature check of the right side of blogosphere and finds they are hot on some issues, cold on others. Yer hostess participated in the poll.

For cryin’ out loud - people should know better, by now, than to ever, ever, ever accept media spin on what the pope has said. Just as the press inflamed many Muslims by mischaracterizing the pope’s remarks last September, they’re doing it again here. When it comes to popes, the only way to be fair is to read the full texts of a pope’s remarks. Otherwise, you’re just being played.

Don Surber is wondering What Bill Clinton is hiding this time.

This woman is a piece of work - a real pip - and even more disingenuous than Hillary. An Arab-American tells her what for. She deserves all the jegative fallout she’s getting.

Newtie an opportunist?. Who’da thunk it! Yes, that’s sarcasm, if you’re not sure.

Mary Katharine Ham has a remarkable gift for cutting through nonsense without losing her composure. What a gal!

Instapundit notes that Europe still doesn’t want to defend itself and he looks at Interesting Facts about the economy, noting a particular political irony.

Al Gore does all of us a great disservice. But you knew that, already.

Siggy brings us an Easter Monday to remember and a history lesson we might want to think about.

And a reminder
- yes, there are two baseball seasons to get through before the ‘08 Election. Say it with me - “Your Endless Campaign Stops Here!”

    Anchoress,

I hope you will be feeling better soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Siggy’s history lesson was a great read.

AlGore kept skirting around the issue the other day on TV…why???

    Get better soon.

Do not make me send you cases of liver.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this is a direct quote from the Pope’s speech as you linked to it:

“. . . nothing positive comes from Iraq, torn apart by continual slaughter as the civil population flees.”

There is nothing before or after to modify that statement, and it is untrue. People are returning to Baghdad. Businesses are opening and reopening. Yes, there is still violence, but there are pockets of guarded peace there too.

  4. Mommynator Says:

BTW, please accept my good wishes for your feeling better. Suffering from my own chronic medical festivities, I understand how hard it can be to complete the day and its tasks.

  5. HNAV Says:

    hoping you are feeling well…
    please take very good care.

Nobody’s perfect, but the brilliant and visionary Papa Ratzi’s heart and soul are in the right place, and that covers for a multitude of sins (see below for our secular objections to recent pronouncements of the Holy Father on non-faith-related…
