December 11, 20072007: The year of the “never mind” story…Yesterday, noting that Democrat outrage at waterboarding was something of a “nevermind”, as - it turns out - they’d supported it in 2002, I wondered why the Bush administration had not saved themselves some grief and brought that information forward sooner. And I wrote:
I thought the thing would explode. But today Glenn Reynolds thinks the story is imploding, instead, especially as (once again) the spin isn’t even accurate:
Kind of seems like these days, it really doesn’t matter what the facts are - just getting the desired narrative into a sound-bite for the networks and cable news is sufficient. Governance and reportage are less about delivering information and more about poisoning the public well, or am I just being cranky, today? See also, 2007 The Year in Media Corrections. Amused Cynic says the Dems are looking a lot like Wyle E. Coyote - super geniuses too smart by half. It’s an amusing analogy, but the unseriousness of the congress and the press leaves me more inclined to cry than laugh. Even Doug Ross can’t tickle my ribs. Don Surber and Instapundit linked. If you are being cranky, well then, I’ve joined the club. It seems the dimocrats in Congress will do anything, yes, ANYTHING to make this President and his administration look bad, to the country and to those around the world. I wish I had the time to send each of them a lump of coal and to tell them that there is much more where that came from. They are getting on my last nerve, and I’m a pretty patient, easy-going person, but Pelosi, dingy-dirty Harry Reid, Biden, Dodd, Hussein-Obama, the grifters from Arkansas and lately from NY, and the Cape Cod Orca have gone too far. Unfortunately, I see all too many people in my daily walk (college campus) who are dumb enough to fall for their sad, sorry rhetoric. Now, aren’t you sorry you asked about crankiness?
