Phrase 2008: No woman is illegal! UPDATED

I liked “Don’t Taze Me Bro,” for 2007.

But 2008 is the year that “No Woman Is Illegal!”

I hope we see tee-shirts. That should become the punchline to almost every joke in the world:

A pirate walks into a bar with a steering wheel coming out of his fly.
The bartender says to him, “hey, you’ve got a steering wheel coming out of your fly!”
The pirate says, “Arrrggh, aye, and it’s drivin’ me nuts! And NO WOMAN IS ILLEGAL!”

Knock, knock!
Sho’s there?
Banana!
Banana who?
NO WOMAN IS ILLEGAL!

“No woman is illegal” is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard a pandering politician say. It makes as much sense as those jokes.

Hillary declares “no woman” is illegal! Hey, they can all have driver’s licenses, then, yaaaaay!

Strident ’70’s nonsense comes to the fore. “Men,” I suppose, may be illegal. Here is Victor Davis Hansen making real sense on illegal immigration.

He does not claim that women are different from men. This must be Hillary’s special wisdom.

And this line:

Stroking the 4-year-old girl’s head, Clinton said, “I feel so strongly that if we don’t take care of our children, we don’t take care of our future.”

Wow. Children are our future! Profound. She’s not going to go gooey and sappy now, because a few tears worked, is she? I don’t believe I’ll be able to stand it. Kathleen Parker says she is tear-jerking America’s chain.

‘Ya think?

Jules Crittenden has more:

Her wretchedly ill-prepared advance staff, the unbelieveable notion of illegal aliens acting as real estate brokers, or her own gender-distorted misunderstanding of basic immigration law?

Clinton said unscrupulous lending leads to bad mortgages, which lead to foreclosures, which lead to people with nowhere to go and vacant neighborhoods that can go rapidly downhill.

“We treat these problems as if one is guacamole and one is chips, when … they both go together,” she said.

OK, none of the above. But what an adorably multicultural, if condescendingly racist analogy!

The article devolves into lay-of-the-land election coverage, with this remark from Hill:

“I’m not asking people to take me on a leap of faith,” she said. “I’m asking them to look at what I bring to this race, and what I will do as president.

Uh … legalize women?

Reader Vickie writes: the response should be: Don’t matronize me, Sis!

UPDATED: If you don’t like “No Woman is Illegal” for your ‘08 punchline, you might try on this one:

From an unnamed Clinton advisor:

“If you want Obama to be your imaginary hip black friend and you’re young and you have no social needs, then he’s cool.”

That from the people who encouraged the idea of Bill Clinton being the nation’s truly imaginary hip black friend!

Knock, knock!
Who’s there!
Orange!
Orange who?
Orange you glad you don’t need an imaginary hip black friend, because you already had one, and he was president!
NO WOMAN IS ILLEGAL!

The Clintons and their operatives are getting sloppy. They cannot afford to.

But they still have help - I mean, three racially insensitive remarks inside of 48 hours, and the press is pretty quiet about it. Imagine such a reaction to a GOP campaign screwing up like that.

WELCOME:
Michelle Malkin readers. Thanks for the link! While you’re here please look around. Today we’re also talking about the need for American Glasnost and wondering who will be our Gorbachev. We’re also taking a fast politics test, finally voting on those PMJ straw poll thingies, pondering the origin of anti-matter, and dancing or watching the Nicholas Brothers in awe.

Actually, I think the response should have been (referring to the Jules Crittenden quote)

    Ugh … legalize men?

Since no woman is illegal, the only thing left to legalize would be men.

If you want Obama to be your imaginary hip black friend

Oh yes, and on January 21, let’s not forget to celebrate LBJ as the real hero and doer of the civil rights movement, who did so much more than that guy MLK who merely gave a couple of speeches. After all, everyone knows that those “shucking and jiving” blacks can’t do anything on their own, and need the white man (and now white woman) to save them, whether it was LBJ or Bill and Hillary Clinton. The black Obama can talk hope to the black community (when he is not dealing drugs), but only the white Hillary can deliver.

Make no mistake, the Clintons are to racial progress what Bill was to progress against sexual harassment. But whereas they deluded themselves and ignored his anti-woman tendencies, all the while promoting him as pro-woman, will people also continue to delude themselves and ignore the racist tendencies of both Bill and Hillary, as they have continued to delude themselves and ignore the racist history and racist present of the Plantation Party of Slavery, Secession, and Segregation?

  7. DADvocate Says:

Camille Paglia wrote a column the other day on Hillary’s “disdain” for men. Ann Althouse presented more insight into this disdain. A Hillary presidency, especially if she lasts 8 years, could be quite harmful to men. But, she is a “A Champion of Women” on her issues page. Apparently she cares little about men as she makes no mention of them on her issues page.

Bender B. Rodriguez - everyone knows that those “shucking and jiving” blacks can’t do anything on their own, and need the white man (and now white woman) to save them

you make a good point. I’ve long believe that the current liberal approach to civil rights was simply a modern version of “white man’s burden.”.

  8. Kimsch Says:

No woman is illegal. That goes with the illegal alien advocates that say that it’s not the person who is illegal, it’s the status…

But why does it only work that way? These are the same people that think guns should be illegal because “guns kills people” not the people who wield the guns.

  9. Kyle R. Cupp Says:

Without downplaying the need to have and enforce a sensible, just, and prudent immigration policy, especially during these times of terror, I think we have to be careful how we use language in reference to those people who cross our borders illegally, for the language we use to speak of them shapes the way we perceive and understand them, and that affects the way we respond to them. By perpetually referring to such people only as “illegals” or other terms denoting their illegal status, we run the risk of thinking of them only in terms of their having broking our laws—as if the fact their breaking our laws comprises the totality of their meaning. When that happens, we may cease to see and treat them as human beings, but rather as things.
