Why does Al Gore look like my mother, here?

Am in late and there’s much to do, but I must ask - can anyone tell me why Al Gore looks like my mother in this picture?

Is that lipstick? Has he had his eyes done? Is it botox? Why does he look like he just got done playing Mrs. Doubtfire and forgot to use the cold creme? I mean…that is a drastic change in look, is it not? Or is it just me?

Things are getting weirder, and the picture just goes to show. On another, but related topic, I was watching “Blazing Saddles” for the first time tonight and it struck me like a lightning bolt that I was watching a prophetic vision of the Obama campaign. Obama is the sheriff, Biden is his sidekick, and McCain is the Harvey Korman character, or at least that’s how the Obama campaign wants to paint him. Obama and company are playing racial and gender politics to the hilt, just like in the movie. In so doing, Obama is trying to entice people to Obamaland, but it’s not what it seems. It’s an edifice. If inhabited, a donnybrook will surely ensue. Hollywood will be there to document it

I didn’t get the chance to see the whole movie. I’ve got to do that sometime. At any rate, now that I think about it, I think the picture of Gore you posted depicts him sitting on the set in full make up.

This may not make any sense at all. It’s late, I’m tired. But I feel like I’ve seen a vision.

GEEZ! Don’t do that again without a warning!

I know your mother was better looking than that.

He does look a wee bit pregnant, though, doesn’t he? I wonder what Tipper looks like if he looks like the feminine one.

He *does* look like he’s made up for an old black-and white silent movie, but I wonder if the picture wasn’t ‘tweaked’ to emphasize the red in the scene.

It looks to me as though the photo has been digitally processed. Maybe some sympathetic press-person was trying to “help” Al by fixing him up a bit. Or maybe some unsympathetic press-person was trying to make him look ridiculous. If so, mission accomplished. But from the looks of the press these days, I’d bet on the former.

LOL! Actually, though, this is a result of the conditions under which the photo was taken. If you look at Gore’s coat, you’ll notice pixelation and purple blotches. That’s digital “noise”, indicating that the photo was shot at a very fast ISO (”film speed”), doubtless because of low light conditions. High ISO noise affects color, contrast, and detail, all of which combine here to make Gore’s lips pinker and his face paler and smoother.

Oh that picture is just WRONG! It’s too early in the morning for that kind of shock to the eyeballs!

  9. irascibleChef Says:

You can put lipstick on Al Gore—but it’s still Al Gore! (or is it a pig, I’m not sure what the expression is anymore!)

    I couldn’t resist…

As for the picture, it is VERY weird. Maybe it is really ooooolllldd. He does look younger; he’s not so jowly and his hair is thicker and darker. And he’s not yelling. In fact he looks rather calm and somewhat medicated.

It almost looks like someone else trying to imitate “him”. Like that Frank guy that does The Donald.

Or maybe it’s his evil twin, fresh out of Cryo-Storage.
